I can now legally leave the US

That's right I now have a passport.  I mean ME, not as in I have applied for a passport and it is somewhere in the system or as in it's sitting at my parents house.  It is sitting right in front of me.  I'm so happy, I wasn't expecting it for another month or more, so this is great.  Now I can start filling out paper work and really get this ball rolling.  I have a meeting with a peer adviser in the study abroad office later this week who will help me get the steps started, though I think I have some of the stuff done already.

Well now that I have up dated on the whole study abroad thing, what else is going on in my life....college.  It is all encompassing. I have had class for less than 2 weeks and already I have had a paper due and a full book to read.  And I'm not talking about some little kid book like some of my friends in EL ED get to read.  I have 10 more books to read this semester and about a 8 more large papers to write.

I still don't have internet on my side of the dorm room and if it wasn't for my sweet, kind, generous (she is probably reading this) wonderful, giving roommate I would never be able to get on the internet.  I did complain to IT (again) and they told me it should be fixed by the end of this week (again).  So hopefully (fingers crossed), by Thursday or Friday (toes crossed) I will not have to steal my roomies internet connection (eyes crossed).

Well that's about it.  I will try to have another up date after my meeting, but I make no promises.

Where, oh, where does the time go

Wow, can it be that I have had a LiveJournal for the whole summer and just now have gotten around to posting? Why, yes it can be.  Well I guess I should do the cliché thing and provide an introduction.

I’m Tina and I will be your guide through this odd murky place known as my thoughts.  I hail from Illinois, NOT Chicago. Yes there is a difference.  Chicago is its own little state covered in people, while Illinois is covered in corn and soybeans.  I go to school at a state university, where I study history.  I’m a writer who can’t spell, (thank Bob for spell check) and an artist with no sense of color coordination (I’ll stick to graphite and charcoal thank you).  I love to read and have been known to read for 10 hours straight if something really interests me. I love researching, and learning useless facts and trivia.  Give me a search term, keyword, or vague idea and a few good databases and I am as happy as a clam (how can you tell if a clam is happy?).

Right now I am planning to spend the spring semester studying in Winchester, England. I have a lot to do before I can go and this journal will more likely than not be a record of my trials and tribulations in preparing to study abroad and a record of my life once I get there.

Well that is enough rambling for one night.  Maybe I will keep up with this journal writing thing.  It couldn’t hurt to have a place to put my odd thoughts or ideas.  It’s not like anyone will read this anyway.
